Chelsea Troubles Continue

Snowfall, cold weather, poor playing conditions forced postponement of Man United match with newly promoted Blackpool. It gave Chelsea a chance to reclaim the top spot. With John Terry back and playing in front of home crowd against Everton it looked as if Champions will grab the top position.

Match started and first half was just an OK type of performance by the home team. They were lucky to get a penalty in the final minutes of first half. Drogba converted the penalty and at the end of the half it was a goal advantage.

Second half started and Everton started playing as if they are the home team. Number of chances were created by them and their efforts were rewarded with a goal. The equalizer produced more spirit in the visitors and Chelsea were no where near to their traditional fighting spirit.

Chelsea were lucky that they did not lose the match. They did not play the way their fans expected them to perform. It was a strange performance by Chelsea and a mystery for team management that why such a good bunch of players are not performing.

Absence of John Terry had exposed the Champions defenders. His return from the injury was considered good both for the defenders and team, as his leadership qualities were greatly missed in his absence. Terry was back but still Chelsea is in trouble. It will take some time for them to regain the form but the points they are losing on their way may cost them the title.
