How to Use an Office Chair

Most would think it is common sense when talking about the subject of how to sit in an office chair considering most of us sit in one for hours on end everyday. While office chairs certainly are easy to use with a little bit of knowledge, most of us are not familiar with how to properly adjust and sit in our chairs in order to avoid pain and injury. When even starting to consider purchasing an office chair it is important to pick out a chair that will allow you to adjust your body and posture to conform ergonomically to you. An ergonomic chair will come with adjustable seat height, back/lumbar adjustments, armrest adjustments, and a tilt lock. While most are not familiar with chair adjustments it is essential to learn about your chair and become properly educated on how to use it before using it just as you would for say a car or bike. However, an office chair will not take nearly as long to figure out as either of the aforementioned.

When sitting in an office chair the first area of the chair to focus on is the part you sit on all day, the seat. With your back against the backrest, the seat should support most of the length of your thighs without applying pressure to the back of your knees. Waterfall seats (which most chairs now come with) are ideal for allowing you to sit comfortably and properly. Your seat height should be set so that your thighs are approximately parallel to the ground when your heels are firmly planted on the ground. If it is not possible to have your feet flat on the ground because your work station is too high and not adjustable, a footrest is a good addition to keep your feet flat and body in proper posture. Movement throughout the day is encouraged, so do not feel as if you always need your feet to be planted on the ground. There is generally a lever on the right side if not the left that when pulled up allows you to move either up if your taller or down if you are of shorter stature. A tip for adjustment is to start with your seat at its highest and lower it gradually until it is at a comfortable height. as you cannot usually raise your seat while you are sitting in it.

The backrest of a chair is an important feature, especially if you suffer from mild to severe back pain. A chair that comes with adjustable lumbar support is recommended for those that suffer from back pain. If your backrest does come with built-in lumbar support, its height should be such that you feel firm support over the lumbar curve of your lower back. Chairs that are S shaped also provide natural back support that will fit to the natural curvature of your spine. If your chair lacks lumbar support, adding a lumbar cushion or lumbar pillow can help aid your back. Lumbar support products should only be added if your seat has sufficient depth in order to avoid pushing yourself up to far that your upper legs are not properly supported. While sitting in your chair, it is usually easier to lower the backrest than raise it. So begin with the back rest as high as it goes, then sit in your chair and gradually lower the backrest until it fits comfortably.

Another feature that is crucial for a good chair to have is adjustable armrests. Most chairs that have adjustable armrests can easily be lowered or raised by pushing a button in and manually pulling the armrests up or pushing them down. Armrests have to be at the right height for your body, if they are too high it will force you to position your arms awkwardly. If armrests are too long you might find yourself to be slouching or sitting in an awkward position which might start to cause a back ache. While typing, your arms should be able to swing freely. Armrests should be positioned about half an inch below your elbows, with your elbows hanging comfortably at your side. If your arms are resting on the armrest while you are typing, you will be inhibiting the normal arm movement which will cause extra strain on your fingers and their supporting structures.

The backrest angle should be set so that you feel the backrest while you are in your preferred sitting position. You should not have to lean back to feel it, nor should it force you farther forward when you are sitting. Your back rest angle should allow, however, to move forward and backward with added pressure while still providing you with lumbar/back support. Usually, underneath your chair there is a knob that allows you to adjust the backrest to the amount of pressure you want. After finding that perfect spot make sure to lock your backrest angle to ensure it stays in place. Usually by pulling the lever up you can unlock the back angle and pushing down locks it into place.

It is important to remember that not all chairs are built the same, meaning that some levers and knobs may be in different places or may be used differently depending on the chair. Also, some chairs may not come with all the features mentioned above and may only possess one or two. What is the key takeaway is take some time to get to know your chair and how to use it when purchasing a chair or even if you already have an office chair you like. In the long run, it can save you from hours, days, or years of suffering from common work related injuries that occur from not sitting properly. If you are not happy with your current chair and its features, look into a chair that has all the adjustments mentioned in order to ensure that it is ergonomically correct.

Premiership Greatest XI

This is a very difficult thing to do and it is all about opinions after all. Some of the choices will be universally approved while some would be mocked or even condemned.

Candidates for Goal keepers

1 Peter Schmeichel (Manchester United)

2 David Seaman (Arsenal)

3 Jens Lehmann (Arsenal)

4 Brad Friedel (Blackburn)

5 Nigel Martyn (Leeds United and Everton)

6 David James (Aston Villa, West Ham, Manchester City and Portsmouth)

7 Brad Friedel (Blackburn Rovers)

8 Shay Given (Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United)

9 Casey Keller (Tottenham Hotspurs)

10 Edwin Van Der Saar (Fulham and Manchester United)

11 Tim Flowers (Southampton and Blackburn Rovers)

My choice would be Peter Schmeichel over David Seaman.

I have gone for a 3-man defense for my first team because I could not leave out some players in the more advanced positions and had also because I do not think that there has been an outstanding right back who really stands out from the rest to warrant being in my first team.

Candidates for Defenders

1. Gary Pallister ( Manchester United)

2. Steve Bruce (Manchester United)

3. Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United)

4. Jaap Stam (Manchester United)

5. Jamie Carragher (Liverpool)

6. Sami Hyppia (Liverpool)

7. John Terry (Chelsea)

8. Marcel Desailly (Chelsea)

9. Ricardo Carvalho (Chelsea)

10. William Gallas (Chelsea)

11. Martin Keown ( Arsenal)

12. Tony Adams (Arsenal)

13. Steve Bould (Arsenal)

14. Sol Campbell (Arsenal)

15. Kolo Toure (Arsenal)

16. Jonathan Woodgate ( Leeds United)

17. Dave Watson (Everton)

18. Philip Albert (Newcastle)

19. Colin Hendry (Blackburn)

The 3 defenders I have chosen for my first team are Tony Adams who has been Arsenal's best defender and captain in the last 30 years.

He did not have the natural ability, athleticism or speed of many of the defenders on the list but he had leadership and organizational abilities which are just as crucial for a defense.

Marcel Desailly of Chelsea who had everything you want in a defender; strength, speed and leadership.

The final defender I have picked is Jaap Stam of Manchester United who like the other 2, had all the qualities you want in a defender.

Midfielders

I am not going to make a list here because I have cheated and put some players that are essentially forwards but I chosen to class them as defenders as there was no way I was going to leave any of them out for the other.

I have picked 2 genuine central midfielders who would have to be the ball winners because the other 3 are not likely to defend at all.

They are perhaps the best 2 in their respective positions and would be in most people's list as the very best player to have played in the premiership and they are Roy Keane of Manchester United and Patrick Vieira of Arsenal.

They were not just very competitive and combative but they were also very good players on the ball as well. They were totally inspirational to their teams and led their teams to many victories.

The 3 other "midfielders" are the best players to have played for their respective clubs, in terms of technical ability and they are Eric Cantona of Manchester United who was the inspiration for their winning the premiership for the first time in 25 years when they won it in 1992/93 season.

He has arguably being the main catalyst for their triumphs thereafter. Dennis Bergkamp was just technically perfect, and as far as I am concerned the best player to have won an Arsenal shirt. Gianfranco Zola was another genius with the football and was rightly voted Chelsea's best ever player.

Strikers

This is always going to be the most position to pick just 2 outstanding candidates out of 50 excellent choices but I have gone managed to pick 2 of the very best.

They are as different as chalk and cheese, but they had scoring goals as their common attribute. The first player I have picked is arguably the most exciting player to have played in the premiership and most would agree that it has been a privileged for the premiership to have had Thierry Henry grace it with absolute brilliance.

He is not just a goal scorer but he created lots and lots of chances for his teammates and scored so many contenders for best goal ever in the premiership. His partner is quite simply the best striker in premiership history as his goals will attest to.

Alan Shearer was just a goal scoring phenomenon who also had more to his game than scoring goals. He is still the leading scorer in the premiership history and it will take a great effort for his record to be broken. He is the only player to have scored a century of goals for 2 different clubs in the Premiership.

Barcelona Defense Will Crack at Chelsea

Most of the Barcelona football club fans were critical that Chelsea parked the defensive bus in front of their goal and cynically keep defending for the ninety minutes. Well for all the Barcelona's football club fans here is an invitation - Please parks the bus at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea will score.

Any body for the taking, well the shoe is now on the other foot and believe you me Barcelona will be found wanting in the second leg. They can't break a five men defense unlike nine men defense at Nou Camp and will concede goals from outside the box from where they even failed to mount a decent shot at Peter Cech goal in full ninethy minutes in the first leg of Champions League Semi final 2009.

The defensive frailties of Barcelona will be all there for display at the Stamford bridge when the attacking full backs of the Barcelona will be confined to their half with Chelsea's wide attacking players and the weakened central defense due to absence of Marquez and Puyol will be shaky against the power and speed of Drogba.

Parking a bus is not easy thing in football that too for a full ninety minutes at a pitch which seems like twice the size of Stamford Bridge and with players touted as the best three in the world at the moment. For Chelsea the hard part of keeping a clean sheet at Nou Camp is already achieved and now it is the quest to score two goals in the first twenty five minutes at Stamford Bridge and defend aggressively using the upper body strength.

Two players who need to be cautious in the coming match is Ballack and Ivanovich, Ballack for the yellow card and Ivanovich for tacking the speed of Henry on left flank as I won't be surprised if Boswinga again neutralize Messi in his own game of coming inside and taking the ball on his left foot.

FC Barcelona - The Rijkaard Years

Frank Rijkaard is a world-renowned football player and coach known for his no-nonsense, aggressive style of play. His tenure as manager of FC Barcelona (familiarly known by its fans simply as Barça) was marked by successes and controversy.

The period in which Rijkaard was brought into FC Barcelona was one of turmoil for the club. The past few years had been very disappointing, accentuated by players and managers coming and going, including the betrayal of vice-captain Luis Figo, who left the team to join their rivals Real Madrid. Newly elected FC Barcelona's new president Joan Laporta desperately wanted to turn things around for the team and began by bringing in Dutchman Rijkaard as manager in 2003. Rijkaard's appointment came as a surprise to FC Barcelona's fans due to his inexperience and tarnished reputation.

Rijkaard had made a name for himself as a player for AC Milan years earlier. Although he had played for other teams before and after, it was during his tenure as a player for AC Milan that he was most known. Rijkaard was known for his aggressive style and hot-headed temperament, which brought him many victories and controversy, respectively.

By the time he sat in Barça's manager's chair, however, he had his temper under control. He had already done two years at the Netherlands national football team, leading them to the Euro 2000 semi-finals, and two years managing Sparta Rotterdam, where he did not fare so well. This so-so performance seemed to light a fire under the young manager, as he came into FC Barcelona with a new purpose. Rijkaard was now known simply as a no-nonsense manager with little flash. He let his and his players' actions speak for themselves on and off the field. They were just out to win the match in the most impressive manner possible.

Though he got off to a slow start (losing to arch rivals Real Madrid in December 2003), Rijkaard soon turned the team around. FC Barcelona finished the 03-04 season as La Liga runners-up before Rijkaard brought in new players to round out the team. The addition of the new roster allowed the club to go to win La Liga for two consecutive years in 04-05 and 05-06.

Rijkaard was the first Barca coach to ever win twice at Santiago Barnebeu, their rival's stomping grounds. He was also nominated for UEFA's Team of the Year in 2005 and honored in 2006 for his contributions to the European Cup. He also managed the team to a victory in the 2005-06 Champions League, which made him only the fifth person ever to win the European Cup both as a manager and a player.

After these victories, however, came a drought. The following two years were not so great for the team, culminating in a loss to Manchester United in the Semi-Final of the '07-'08 UEFA Champions League. There was much speculation after this about Rijkaard leaving the club, due to them not winning a trophy for two years. Finally, on May 8, 2008, it was announced that Frank Rijkaard would be leaving the team at the end of the season.

Rijkaard has now been replaced with Barca B coach Josep Guardiola. Many players have left the team and have been replaced with good prospects. What this means for the future of the team has yet to be seen. With the fickle nature of football club presidents and fans, it remains to be seen how Guardiola will measure up to his predecessors.

Liverpool Football Club

Liverpool team has participated in several leagues right from its inception. It is rightly the owner of leagues because it was formed because of dispute between the Everton Foot ball club leader and the landowner of Anfield. This landowner was also the president of the Everton Football club. They disputed for a long time over the land and later, Houlding, the landowner started Liverpool Football Club. Though it did not avail good support from the football committee, it won the Lancashire Leagues, which was its first victory as well, the most important victory to help it gain reputation in the football committee.

In 1901, it won the first division and the same happened in 1906 too. Victories followed victories leading avalanche effect. However, a sudden stop prevailed from 1923 to 1946 until which there was not a single trophy. In 1946, it again will not the first division and became the first club to win it five times. There were certainly a few losses too at Liverpool Football Club. However, all these losses were effectively converted into gains to the team. When LFC lost the 2to1 non-league FA cup, a new manager called Bill Shankly was appointed. He converted a room at the LFC space into a strategy discussion room. This room was initially used a boot space, but now it is one of the best places to discuss intellectual moves.

The team moved towards another orientation from then on. They started to focus on intellectual moves too rather than just being vigorous in action. A complete reshape happened in the entire team. The club now obtained a good status of First division and it took nearly 17 years for this struggle. With Shankly's management, the team won a league UEFA, FA cup too. Later when Shankly retired, his assistant took over the post and the team again started to get its fame with its new management.

With the new manager, Paisley Liverpool Football Club won the European Cup, UEFA Cup, but they lost FA Cup in the finals. Around 21 trophies were bagged and the members of Liverpool Football Club atrophied not a single opportunity. The determination and strategies gave them immense opportunity in the football club.

The History Of Football Freestyle

Juggling have been around as long as there have been objects to juggle with, which is like forever.
I am not completely sure how it all started, the oldest juggling video I've seen is from beginning of the 1900. Rastelli was his name and he were absolutely amazing, he did some things that I havn't seen
the jugglers of today pull of.

The first famous football juggler was Mr. Woo, he took the art of football freestyle to a new level. He did a lot of circus tricks. He had a lot of style and imagination. Mr.Woo was a former pro footballer who wanted to take his skills to a new level. Mr.Woo have now worked with many of the best football players of today. He has also been seen in several TV ads and has been a "stunt double" for many players(doing the tricks for them). He has also been teaching his tricks to people all over the world.

After a couple of years a new dimension of the sport was born. The video of Soufiane Touzani was the start of this new freestyle era. In the beginning of 2000 he released a video with tricks never seen before. He did crazy combinations and that was one of the first real freestyle movies ever released on the net. Today this video have been seen by millions of people all over the world, it's probably the most seen freestyle video ever. Touzani was doing a lot of leg tricks and combination. Most people have seen one around the world, this guy did multiple and also new combination of different tricks. This video was the introduction to the freestyle scene to so many people.

A couple of years later there came a new revolution of airmoves. The guy that introduced this style of freestyle is named "Palle" and he's from Sweden. He started to do the craziest tricks after each other, all of them in one motion with no touch in between the tricks. This kind of freestyle had never ever been seen before. People went more and more crazy about the airmoves style. Today there is some people who know the no touch style, but not very many.

To all you people who want to bring freestyle to a new level... think, be creative and have patience!

Premier League: Drogba, Malouda, Berbatov Head Golden Boot Roster

Didier Drogba's goal for Chelsea against Arsenal on Sunday was his sixth of the ongoing Premier League season, and the strike helped the Ivorian draw level with teammate Florent Malouda and United's Dimitar Berbatov as joint top-scorer in the competition.

Drogba got the first hat-trick of the Premiership season on its opening day playing at home against West Brom. Chelsea won that match 6-0. Thereafter, the Ivorian has had three goals in six matches, in all of which he started for the Stamford Bridge squad.

Interestingly, all of Drogba's goals have come in home matches, one each against Stoke City, Blackpool and Arsenal, games that Ancelotti's squad won 2-0, 4-0 and 2-0, respectively.

Like Drogba, Malouda opened his scoring account in Chelsea's season opener against Albion, in which he found the back of the rival net twice.

But unlike Drogba, Malouda has not restricted his scoring to home matches. His third goal came in Chelsea's 6-0 away win against Wigan, his fourth came in the home match against Stoke City, his fifth and sixth in the home game with Blackpool on September 19.

Also, unlike Drogba, Malouda has not been in the starting eleven in every match. In fact, in the West Ham match on September 11, the Frenchman came on as a late second half substitute in the 84th minute.

Berbatov has been Manchester United's saviour this season, with Wayne Rooney's truancy giving the Bulgarian an opportunity to prove that the Old Trafford squad are not a one-man outfit, centred around Rooney.

Berbatov began his scoring, with a strike in United's opener at Old Trafford against Newcastle on August 15. He did not add to his tally, in the next game with Fulham, played away at Craven Cottage. The Bulgarian striker's second goal of the season came in his team's 3-0 win at home against West Ham, on August 28.

Berbatov's next goal came in the away game against Everton, that ended in a 3-3 draw, followed by a hat-trick against Liverpool. His third goal came in injury time, ensuring that United banked full points from that match.

Berbatov's exclusion from the starting eleven in the away match against Sunderland has raised more than a few eyebrows. But following Sir Alex's refusal to talk to the media after the Liverpool match where the media went to town over the United manager's comment on Torres, nobody is able to discuss the rationale of Fergie's team selection, with the big man.

Sunderland's Darren Bent and Manchester City's Carlos Tevez have both scored five goals each this season, and are hot on the heels of the top three, in contention for the Golden Boot.

Aston Villa Vs Chelsea - Latest Team News - Match Preview

Next up is Aston Villa vs Chelsea as Chelsea travel to Villa Park to face Aston Villa for their next Premier League game of 2010-11 season.

Didier Drogba will not be fit for tomorrow's game due to fever, but John Terry is available.

Its back to Premier League action after a round of Euro Qualifiers and Chelsea will look to continue with their form as they visit Villa Park on Saturday. An away game at Villa park has never been easy for Chelsea with only one victory from the 11 years since Tore Andre Flo and Bjarne Goldbaek earned a 3-0 victory in March 1999. The only win was in February 2009, Guus Hiddink's first match as manager, when Nicolas Anelka scored the solitary goal.

Chelsea have won six of their seven games to lead the Premier League by four points, the biggest gap at the top in the Premier League since 2005 when Chelsea won all seven and led second-placed Charlton by six points.Chelsea have scored 23 goals and given only two, both these away, one at West ham and the other at Manchester City. Villa on the other hand haven't lost a game at home this season. And with ex Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier they seem to be getting strong by every match. On the other hand Villa have just won one in their last four in the league with a victory over Wolves.

Chelsea will welcome back skipper John Terry who missed out on the International's with a back problem. Frank Lampard might make the bench after a seven match absence. But Alex, Benayoun and Kalou will miss out due to injuries.

Premier League Preview: Wigan Vs Wolves

Wigan will play host to Wolves in a lunch-time kick off on Saturday.

The Latics had the worst of starts to their Premiership campaign, losing by big margins in home matches to newbies Blackpool and champions Chelsea. But thereafter, they have turned things around, for which no small credit is due to manager Roberto Martinez.

In their last five games, the Latics have lost just one, while also ensuring an entry into the fourth round of the tournament after a Carling Cup victory over Preston North End.

Wigan desperately need a win at the DW Stadium if for no reason but to attract home supporters to watch the match as the stadium has not seen a full house in recent times.

Quite ironically, Wigan owe it to their good performances at home, last seaosn, for managing to stave off relgation. This season, they have just 3 draws and a loss to show for four home matches in six, the highest among all teams in the Premiership.

When Wolves visited the DW Stadium last season, Andy Keogh put the Wanderers ahead early in the match, and the visitors hung on to prevail 1-0. This was just one of six home losses last season.

Martinez will definitely be hoping for a better result this time round, and he will be helped by the fact that all his major players are available, barring Tom Cleverly and Gary Caldwell, and Franco Di Santio could start in spite of an injury suffered against Birmingham last weekend, a game that ended in a goalless draw.

At 17th place, Wolves are just one rung above the Latics on the points table. Mick McCarthy's squad began relatively well, with five points garnered from their first three matches of the Premiership season. The three losses that followed in as many matches have seen wolves plummet down the ranks to join in a relegation battle.

The Wanderers will be smarting from their 2-1 loss at home in a Midlands Derby against Aston Villa, last weekend. And they should be buoyed by the prospect of playing Wigan, who represent their best opportunity to atone, under the circumstances..

Despite their good showing at the DW Stadium last year, Wolves recent record on the road does not inspire optimism. In three away matches against Everton, Fulham and Tottenham, the Wanderers have banked just one point.

Both teams have been inconsistent, but taking everything into account, I would give a slight edge to the hosts.

Why Fans Get Crazy in Watching Football

When it comes to sports, they are expecting that fans may cheer for their own individual or a team. Sports are one of the best things that an individual may participate because it will develop their physical ability and mental as well. Most of the children right now are being sent to any sport by their parents for them to have experience on what makes them to be a better athlete someday. Popular sports like football, basketball, billiards, lawn tennis, bowling, hockey and golf are already developed for years. Due to their popularity, more and more people are getting interested to join any sport they want, as long it is their favorite and with passion as well. Right now, football is one of the best sports that any person may witness. Unlike any other sports, football is the most exciting sport of all time.

Football fans from around the world are now getting crazy in watching football either on TV or at the stadium. One of the football leagues which the fans are addicted is the English Premier League (EPL). There are so many teams they can cheer on like the Manchester United, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and a whole lot more. In a football stadium, when the seats are all occupied you may feel the exciting atmosphere of the football fans who were cheering for their team. The football stadium twice or thrice bigger than a basketball arena or a hockey stadium. It is one of the reasons why football right now is the most discussed sport of all time. Football fans were also updated about football like the English Premier League through listening to the radio, watch news about football and searching the internet. Speaking about the internet, there were also forum communities for football fans to discuss anything they want about football, and to keep other fans updated about it.

Right now there were hundreds of forums, blogs and groups about football that exists in the internet and still growing. The reason they built their football forums, blogs and websites are consist of two things. The first thing is what we call passion, which a blogger or website owner is to write something about football that makes them passionate. Because of passion, football fans who were accessing the internet are getting chances to check out the website or blog, and to subscribe and leave comments as well. The other reason why they built them is to make money from their ads displayed on their website or use keywords to link into a football shop site. No matter what the reason we are choosing, it may last long only with passion and quality. Its also one of the reasons why football fans go crazy. Not only they are crazy about watching football online, but also to get updated through blogs and forums they are subscribing. They can even answer polls, surveys and even play games that are related to football through search engines. When a football fan goes crazy, we must think that football is really something to them rather than any sport. It is their own passion to go crazy watching football, as well as to participate with some websites like soccer forums.

Arsenal Football Club - The Pride of London

Arsenal football club is one of the best sides in the English Premier League and indeed the world. Based in North London and Nicknamed 'the Gunners' they are renowned for playing beautiful football. There isn't a team in Europe that plays the same style of football as Arsenal. They play the passing came and are masters at maintaining possession. They work the ball to the goal rather than long balls and play a game that really annoys other sides. The club was founded in 1886 by workers at the Woolwich Arsenal Armament Factory. The side turned professional just 5 years later and shortened their name to Woolwich Arsenal. They joined the Football League in 1893 but had to then wait 30 years before winning their first major title. Now their trophy cabinet contains 5 League titles and 2 FA Cups.

Arsenal is managed by Frenchman Arsene Wenger. The cool collected character is a master tactician and is well respected in the world of football. Arsenal have been somewhat criticised in recent times for fielding no Englishmen. A full squad of foreign players has upset a number of neutral supporters who believe that it is not good for the game. Originally based in Woolwich in 1913 Arsenal moved to a new stadium in London known as Highbury. Highbury became a fortress to Arsenal and they enjoyed numerous irreplaceable years there. In 2006 they moved to their current home at the Emirates stadium. The Emirates was the first of its kind in England and seats 60,432 people. Arsenal have had a high degree of success at the Emirates but are yet to win a Premier League title there. Arsenal did however make the Champions League final in 2006 narrowly losing to Barcelona in the dying minutes.

Arsenal's last top flight title came in the 2003/2004 season when they went through the whole campaign without losing a single game. Arsenal have fallen behind the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea in recent times. They have the players and the right manager at the helm. They have just lacked that killer instinct that resides in their rivals. Arsenal's biggest rival in the Premier League is Tottenham Hotspur. Arsenal and Spurs have had countless unforgettable derby matches always resulting in entertaining drama. Many believe that with the current Arsenal line up it is only a matter of time before they win the Premier League title again and only time will tell if this is their season.

Ain't It Funny How Time Slips Away

Porto and Monaco were surprise finalists of the champions' league in 2004. This is a brief spotlight on the both sides from just 4 years ago and how many players are still at the club.

Just 4 years down the line and the 2 sides are unrecognisable from the sides that took part in the final of the champions' league with just a handful of players remaining on both sides. This is part 1.

Porto

Starting XI

Vitor Baia was in goal but has now retired.

Jorge Costa left to play for a number of clubs including Charlton Athletic before retiring and trying his hands on management with SC Braga. He played at centre back.

Ricardo Cavalho is now at Chelsea and played at centre back.

Paolo Ferreira played at right back and is now at Chelsea.

Nuno Valente played at left back and is now at Everton.

Carlos Alberto played in midfield but is now at Sao Paolo having also played for Werder Bremen this season.

Costinha played in centre midfield but has been much travelled since then having played for Dynamo Moscow, Athletico Madrid and now Atalanta.

Maniche like Costinha played in centre midfield and also like Costinha has been much travelled as he has played for Dynamo Moscow, Chelsea, Athletico Madrid and Inter Milan.

Pedro Mendes played in centre midfield but is now at Portsmouth via Tottenham Hotspurs.

Derlei played as a lone striker but is now at Sporting Lisbon after having played for Dynamo Moscow and Benfica.

Manager

Jose Mourinho was the manager and he left to join Chelsea almost immediately after the final but is currently unemployed

None of the starting 11 is still at the club just 4 years later.

Private Car License Plates - Is This a New Style Statement and Image Accelerator?

A few years ago I would never have thought of having a personalised number plate, license plate or registration plate. However these days it seems to be a must fashion accessory. It is becoming a bit of a viral obsession and as important as the actual car itself. Maybe it's because we now have new cars released twice a year instead of once and a new car doesn't have the same wow affect for as long any more. Whatever the reason take a look around the next time you walk through a car park or stop at the traffic lights. Everyone seems to have them.

Private license plates are fast becoming a way of life. Car lovers are increasingly opting for personalised car license plates. Trends show that owning a private registration plate is a lifestyle statement. It shouts about your personality and individuality distinguishing you from the crowd.

To own a personalised private number plate is quite something. The question is where do you buy one and what do you buy?

It is important to know what your license plate is going to symbolise. It is important to understand what your registration plate will represent. Initials and names have proven to be very popular. The DVLA has created a huge range of license plates containing initials and names. However people are now becoming more adventurous with their choices choosing to include their favourite sport or car make in the registration plate. A search on a specialized site is bound to throw up ideas of interest for you.

Using specialised searches can help in the research process after all this car license plate is about your uniqueness and individuality, you want it to be right or it could become costly. Many celebrities sport unique number plates. Paul Daniels has MAG IC and James Martin has 6 HEF which are examples of car registration plates which represent their occupations rather than names or initials. Many people choose to show nicknames or their sporting heroes such as 3 LFC or C431 SEA representing Liverpool Football Club and Chelsea Football Club respectively.

It would be pretty impressive to have a number plate like 911 or P03 CHE if you owned a Porsche and quite funny if you owed a robin reliant and put a car registration plate of F13 ARI or SP33 D on it. I don't know? Is owning a private registration plate like owning a mulberry bag or an iPhone. I coveted both these items for a while before actually purchasing them but I think the car license plate choice would require a lot more thought. After all we are considering the image we want to portray to the world. Should it be a sporty one like BOX 33R or 10 ACE for boxing or tennis but then I'm not really into boxing and I'm not great at tennis or should I go for one that reminds me of a special location like PAR 715S for Paris. Do you see what I mean the options are endless? The sensible me and the business women me is screaming go for something that markets my business yet the playful me says go for something funny like 123 BUM or FA3 TS.

Websites dedicated to selling license plates can be used as a tool for finding that gem or they can be used to handle the whole process. Once you have selected your number plate, everything else will be taken care of and your documentation and paper work will be efficiently handled with your new car license plates arriving within a few days.

Personal registration plates are also called cherished registration plates. It is a myth that these plates cost the earth and that only the rich can afford them. These days' people from all backgrounds and walks of life are opting for private car license plates. Private number plates add a distinctive edge to your car and say something about you or not if you don't get one soon.

A unique car license plate can work out as good investment and I am willing to bet that there are not many resold at a loss. Can you image if you managed to buy one which referred to a pop-star say for example one like 8A8A for gaga and sold it for a huge profit. It then becomes much easier to justify spending on it. However beware it could also work the other way whereby you see your ideal one only it's on another car and then it becomes your obsession, you must have it, you dream about it until you decide you must have it then you convince yourself you need it...have you been here before...i have...with my mulberry bag and my iPhone. Then all logic goes out the window and I'll pay over the odds for the car license plate which I have convinced myself that basically I need to live.

All that said I think I've definitely got the bug and I never thought I'd here myself saying this but "I'm a car license plate spotter", I went out this morning and spotted at least five initial ones and one strange one that I can only guess that the driver must be a milkman. Maybe I'll start a car license plates anonymous association or a car license plates enthusiasts club. I think however I may have to take the plunge first and actually purchase one. So my search begins. Anyway enough rambling from me so please sent your spotted ones on a postcard to. No but really do I sound like that Little Britain character now? I wonder what one she would have maybe N0 8UT or Y3AH 8UT.

Famous Spanish Soccer Players

Who are the famous Spanish soccer players of all times? For which team had they played for?

Numerous Hispanic soccer players have gained the limelight in the soccer field. They have proven their worth with regard to the game. They were able to reach to peak of their careers. It did took a while for them to reach it but what matters most is that they were able to make it and gained the trust and admiration by sports enthusiasts.

Some of these players are:

Diego Maradona - Diego Maradona lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He had successfully enthralled both the sports enthusiasts and critics as well. He started playing the game in 1975 and ended his career in November 2001. All throughout his soccer career he has influenced a lot of people including his colleagues. He is considered to be one of the greatest players of all time despite his addiction to cocaine. He has played with six teams, namely: Boca Juniors, Argentinos, Barcelona, Seville, Napoli and Newell's Old Boys. Various names had been called out to him such as Pibe De Oro, The King and Golden Boy.

Raul Blanco - Raul Gonzalez Blanco was born in Madrid, Spain on June 27, 1977. He is a product of Atletico Madrid's youth system. The coach of team Real, Jorge Valdano, started his soccer career at age 17. He idolizes Diego Maradona. Blaco played for Atletico and Real teams. His nicknames were el Pichichidel Madrid (Madrid's Striker), Babysitter and Raulito.

Nicolas Hernandez - Just like Maradona, Hernandez was from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has been playing since 1999 and still counting. He played with the Colorado Rapids. In 2002, he played with an Italian team but that was just for a short time.

Raymond Peat, PhD, Formulates Progest E Complex

Raymond Peat has examined an array of hormonal related conditions and has offered some really ideal insights into how one would go about dealing with some of these deficiencies. His approach offers an evolutionary point of view. This is because his approach offers a comprehensive outlook on the problem when physiology, biochemistry and biophysics are viewed in conjunction. This gives one a better standpoint when looking to understand the degenerative process of one's immediate environment. Raymond Peat seeks to help users understand the benefits closely related to Progest E as they seek to remedy some of the hormone deficiencies they may be suffering.

He has tried to outline his ideas as related to Progest E as a protector to the body's overall wellbeing, maintaining the body's energy and protecting the body from some of the effects of substances like radiation and conditions like lack of oxygen and stress. He seeks to stress the idea that structure and energy as related to one's body are interdependent, and this is true at virtually all levels. He has worked on a theoretical and practical aspect in this regard. Additionally, he strives to show a fresh perspective on the character of live matter. This is in essence to help users take advantage of therapeutic and practical effects of an array of substances seen to support life.

It is important to note that not all the substances that are being marketed offer relief from various hormonal deficiencies. It is for this reason that he cautions both long standing users and prospective users to initially carry out thorough research on various products prior to commencing use. This is in a bid to help users get the best benefits from these products and on the other hand, avoid the negative effects associated with them. In addition, he seeks to show that various degenerative and developmental issues can be solved by the proper use of substances that seek to maintain and protect one's energy levels. For instance, if one is suffering from progesterone deficiency, it means that the body is producing cortisone in excess amounts. This in turn causes one to suffer from aging of the skin, brain cells are damaged, osteoporosis and the accumulation of fat; this is especially present on one's belly and abdomen.

However, if one uses Progest E properly, these conditions could be alleviated. It has also been shown that the use of this product could alleviate various other conditions. Some of these conditions include; epileptic seizures, anxiety, memory loss and the loss of brain cells. It is important to note though that one should thoroughly research on the various products on offer. This is to ensure that one not only purchases the correct product and the products that are best in line with their needs but, to also be able to use these products in the best way possible.

Success Lessons From Three UK Soccer Managers - People Are Always Quick To Put You In A Coffin

Arsenal Football Club were the Champions of the Premier league in English soccer in 2004. In 2005 they did not do as well and were only in third place.

The manager of Arsenal is Arsene Wenger. He is the French coach who brought Arsenal to the top of English football. He found out the hard way how quick people are to write you off even if you recently achieved a huge success. He commented:

"People are always quick to put you in your coffin."

Arsene admitted that Arsenal had little chance of retaining their title as Champions but they were still third in the league and as such would be able to take part in the European Champion's league next year.

Arsenal, in fact, reached the quarterfinals of the first great soccer competition in the world -the FA Cup. They were in form.

Arsene Wenger and Arsenal football club had not given up. They knew that they had not reached the pinnacle of English football but there were several other smaller mountains they were still busy climbing. They were not yet ready to climb into their coffins.

Too many people, at the first sign of criticism or the first hint of failure, meekly get into their own coffin and die before their time. This can happen at any age.

The great Welsh poet Dylan Thomas told people not to die meekly but to "rage, rage against the dying of the light!"

Quite a few people retire from life when they retire from their job. They potter about and waste their valuable time because they accept the verdict of society that the elderly have little left to offer the community.

Retirement is a chance to try learning some new skills; a chance to grow in character and knowledge. An hour's study a day can help us achieve new skills and new knowledge. Let's not give up the ghost too soon! Let's not get into the coffin before our time.

Soccer managers live on the edge of life. They are always on the knife edge of success or failure. They are sacked when their teams fail to perform.

I enjoy listening to them especially after their teams have lost! Their comments usually have a motivational tip or two in them.

Jose Mourinho won the European soccer champions league with Porto in 2004 and then moved to Chelsea in West London where his team won game after game.

Eventually, he had two poor results and was soon asked if the honeymoon with Chelsea was over. He looked glum after two unaccustomed losses but denied that he was worried. He had retained his confidence and motivation:
"Our mood has changed but not our confidence or motivation. When you lose you don't smile so much but the confidence is still there".

He was asked about the Carling Cup final (one of the two main knockout competitions in England) and pointed out that his team had reached the final by a harder road than their rivals in the final - Liverpool. However, he said: "When you arrive in the final you have to forget how you got there and concentrate on the final."

Jose knows how to focus on what is important. A reporter asked him how long it would be before his injured Dutch star Arjun Robbin could play again. Jose replied in typical fashion.

"I want to be fair with you. I have no idea and to be fair I don't want to have. I'm just interested in the players I have and the doubtful ones that might come and give you a hand. Robbin is not in either of these groups and I just prefer to forget!"

Jose knows how to concentrate on what he can do and not on what he can't! He doesn't want to waste time on sentimental talk about how Arjun is doing!

He claimed to have a relaxed attitude to the nemesis of soccer coaches - the threat of the sack:

"My life is easy. When I am not happy with my club - Goodbye! When my club is not happy with me - Goodbye"

Jose's confidence is astonishing. In fact he does not need to worry about the sack. A hundred clubs would ask him to be their coach if he was sacked. However I think he could still say 'Goodbye' without hesitation even if this was not the case.

Mourinho is a man of decision and not one to wait around for things to happen. He is the type to make things happen his way or he'll head for the highway.

Alex Ferguson at Manchester United is another great soccer manager who never gives up. In 2005, he was trying to catch up with Chelsea. He looked for any signs of hope: "Chelsea are not playing as well as they were four or five weeks ago. They don't have the form to fall back on."

United were ready to pounce if Chelsea slipped up. Sir Alex is a ferocious competitor.

All three of these managers are great leaders and motivators. They maintain their confidence and motivation and put a brave face on things when games go wrong. They never give up and they are decisive proud men who know their value.

They teach us not to get into the coffin before our time; to climb smaller mountains if we fail to climb the tallest; to focus on what we can do something about; to concentrate on what we have available and not on what we haven't; to move on if we are not happy; to compete ferociously even when we are behind - we can never know when our competitor might slip up!

Football Capped or Uncapped?

In 2007 the average yearly wage for a full time working British adult is £24,000. So would £50,000 a year satisfy the average working Briton or how about £50,000 per week? Apparently not Frank Lampard and John Terry, both men British, both men in full time employment, both men not satisfied with £50,000 per week. What would happen if like the average Briton, they were forced to accept a wage that the firm they worked for could only offer them as a maximum? Like many eastern Europeans they could always transfer their skills abroad, causing a skills drain in their home countries. Would a skills drain be a bad thing?

A salary cap on all players in the English league would un-doubt ably lead to an exodus and the lowering of the skill level in English football, demoting it from the premier rank among world football. The amount of foreign workers would not seek the over paid green fields of England and England's most talented workers would most definitely follow them. But would this be a bad thing? Let's look at the negatives of a salary cap of £24,000 per week, that would make them fifty one times higher paid than the average Briton. The immigration office in central London would firstly have to lay off workers sorting out special sporting circumstances forms; also the amount of exotic names would be lost from our game forever. People like Didier Drogba would not accept £24,000 per week especially in light of the average wage in his home country of the Ivory Coast where the average weekly wage is £15 per week; these terms are just totally unacceptable. English clubs would be forced to play their youth players and scrape the playgrounds of the English inner cities causing maximum effort and disruption for the perspective clubs staffs. The level of performance will drop and be over taken by the leagues in Italy and Spain.

Positives? Most of us will be able to pronounce perfectly every players name on the team sheet in our programmes. Not really important but it would help in the drunken conversations in the pubs after match day. We would loose the idiotic diving and unsporting behaviour that players like Didier Drogba bring to the English game, I remember an age where players were disgraced to dive in the penalty area and now it's seen as a perfectly normal aspect of the game. The league would lose its continental style, but I remember the days of the Wimbledon barmy army and team antics that were as entertaining as the football itself. Losing the continental style would bring back the old days when we used to win the World Cup and finishing in the semi finals would get the England boss sacked. Now it's a matter of whether we can manage to beat Israel to merely qualify - so much for a new adopted foreign style. English clubs would be forced to play and pay much more attention to their youth teams, give youth a chance and if any prove successful like John Terry then they will prove so in the English league.

If not being content with just being regular millionaires on £24,000 per week, foreign players and money seeking English players would leave us with a league where anybody can win, with less cheating and more fun for all. We might also finally and sadly lose ex-Russian KGB agents, corrupt ex-Thai prime ministers and American billionaires whose sole intention is for the good of the game. They've done an excellent job in owning our football clubs, sorry their football clubs - sponsored by every living firm on the FTSE 100 who are needed to hand over the cash so players can now earn over £120,000 per week. I forgot to mention the ticket prices are on the rise again.

Chelsea FC - Cut Spending and Look to Youth

Since Roman Abramovich became the new owner of Chelsea Football Club in 2003 they have been renowned for being the big spenders in the English Premier League.

From 2004-2009 there was an estimated gross spend of over £325 million on players, although £245 million has been recouped on sales of players during that time and notably during the 2009 season there was a profit on players sales (verses expenditure) of an estimated £68 million.

Obviously transfer fees are only half the story, players wages, are notoriously expensive, Chelsea spent a reported £142million on players salaries last year alone. This massive expenditure is offset somewhat by ticket sales, merchandise and replica shirt sales, advertising, television payments and indeed prize money for winning the premier league, estimated to be in the region of £15million.

Chelsea continue to maintain they are in a strong financial position and are reported to be on target to 'break even' within the next few years.

Since the takeover by Abramovich, the investment in football terms has pay dividends, and Chelsea have enjoyed a very successful era; they have won eight major trophies, including the Premier League 3 times, the FA Cup 3 times and the League Cup twice - making them the most successful English team in the last seven years.

Chelsea are not the only big spenders in the Premier League, and there are growing concerns about the financial position of some football clubs. In addition to the huge spending by some clubs, this financial power is also seen by some as an unfair advantage, if a club has the backing of wealthy businessmen or consortiums.

Another issue which is causing concern is the perceived lack of 'home grown' talent, which may adversely affect the national team as well as the clubs, by the massive influx of quality foreign players into the Premier League.

The football governing bodies have now taken action. From the beginning of the 2010/11 season The Premier League will introduce a squad cap of 25 players and a quota on 'home grown' players. From this season, clubs must include eight home-grown players out of a squad of 25.

A home-grown player is defined as being registered with the club for a minimum period of three entire seasons before the age of twenty-one.

Chelsea seem to be ahead of the game here, by moving to their new training ground in Cobham, Surrey in 2004 and opening their new multi-million pound state of the-art training ground in 2007, which includes all the latest in training, rehabilitation, medical, pitch and media technology and this is also the home of the youth team and Chelsea academy.

Cobham is home to the Under 9s through to the Under 18s, all the way through to the Chelsea first team. The academy is overseen by Chelsea sporting director Frank Arnesen who was appointed in 2005 and is well known for his ability to develop young players.

Chelsea already have several academy players on the verge of breaking into the first team. The long term strategy obviously has to be the development of talented young players rather than paying huge amounts for older players from other teams, this will also ensure future financial stability.

Developing home grown players is considered to be a vitally important goal for Chelsea. Cobham gives us the perfect platform for that, It is a general consensus that the new Premier League rules on home-grown players will benefit the long-term future of football.

Another issue for Chelsea are the huge salaries of the players, From the 2012-13 season clubs entering European competition will have to prove they are financially stable, and will only be allowed to spend on player transfers and wages what they earn in revenue, this is another factor that will prompt the development of youth team players to reduce massive transfer costs.

Prior to the start of this season, Chelsea have released several high profile players, who were reported to be amongst the highest earners at the club, it will be interesting to observe the developments and wage structures over the next few years, again, I believe Chelsea are ahead of the game, and will continue to be a major presence in English, European and World football.

Memories of Italy Vs Argentina

It was the summer of 82 and Italy had been placed in the same group as Brazil and Argentina with the team to come in first place being the one to progress through to the semifinal. Italy up in till that point like the other two teams in its group had also played three games yet unlike Argentina and Brazil had not won any of its games, in rout to becoming the first team to qualify to the second round of a world cup without wining a single game. This in contrast to Scotland in 74, who became the first team in the world cup to be eliminated in the first round without loosing a single game.

Italy in Spain 82 qualified to the second round by virtue of obtaining three draws, first to Poland (0-0) then to Peru (1-1) and last but not least to Cameroon (1-1) which in my opinion did not really reflect the quality of the Italian team of the time, which held in its ranks players the likes of Rossi, Tardelli, Antognoni, Cabrini, Conti and their legendary goal keeper Dino Zoff. Italy had not won a single game from their first three this I was not denying however in all truth, they could have won all three and perhaps should have as in their first match against Poland, their creative midfielder; Antognoni hit the cross bar. It was against Peru however that Italy would score thanks to Conti;18 minutes in to the first half. This only to see Peru level the score with 7 minutes remanding in the match with a goal that some credit to their defender; Diaz though in reality the ball unluckily for Italy bounced of their central defender Colovati; sending Zoff the wrong way as the ball slowly made its way in to the net for the equalizer.

As for the third and last game Italy played in the first round, it saw them tie Cameroon by the same score as they had done against Peru and in a similar fashion of scoring first and then giving up the equalizing goal. It in a way was a strange goal that saw Italy go ahead as Graziani headed the ball past Cameroon's Nokono, who picked a most inopportune time to give up his first goal and the only one he would in the tournament, as it was but a slip that allowed this weak header to put Italy up 1-0. Cameroon however would come back to equal matters, one minute later via a goal by Mbida at the 61 minute mark which in all truth should have been ruled offside yet was not though this did not matter for a draw was enough for Italy to progress along with Poland to the next round.

Italy had made it to the second round though not many gave it a chance to go through to the semifinal in a group that included the winners of four years ago with Maradona and Brazil the team which without much room for doubt was showing not only the most consistent football in the tournament but also the best. Italy in all this one could say had a great team, with the players to make a difference yet they were not coming up with the results they should have while in all this I felt they could stage an upset of at least Argentina.

Maradona was great, this held little doubt in anybody's mind but despite this factor he could be controlled if not stopped; as Belgium had shown through heavy marking which limited his activity though he did have a slight miss on a free kick that hit the bar which prevented him from getting on the score sheet. Maradona could be defeated or so I had seen on that first day of play but it would not be easy as to a large extent it had to be in part to his not being in full form as he did tend to have such days, not that his teammates at the time were of such a great help to him as in all truth their time was past.

Maradona however was not one to take lightly as he had demonstrated against Hungary whom he scored two goals against apart from his passes which led to their other two goals in what went on to be a 4-1 rout of the team that had beaten El Salvador by 10-1. Maradona was in good form yet fortunately for Italy; his team was only the same which had won the world cup in having the same players but not in quality of play which would not render him the help he would be so much in need of. This the case since players like Kempes, Ardiles and Bertoni were producing well below what they had four years ago.

The game started this I will never forget, with me watching it at the house of relatives of mine, in Argentina who naturally were all supporting the blue and whites while I was doing likewise for the "azurri" of Italy. The first half for the most part was a boring defense minded affair with both teams locked in the midfield, which they fought with everything they had in order to gain control of. As for Maradona, this man was being watched very carefully and at times brutally by a defender by the name of Claudio Gentile, who was like a shadow; following him all over the field where ever it was he went. Some of the fouls by Gentile looking back were unfair and without a doubt today would have led to a red card but in those days with rules being more liberal on defenders it was only a yellow card that Gentile was booked with. Of course in all this I could see the cause of the anger in those about me that supported Argentina but I can not claim to have been against it as It was keeping this player capable of it all, at least in control, even if in an un sportsmanship like manner.

The first half ended 0-0, with everybody in my Argentine family being not only clearly against Italy but me, as they could see that my frame of mind was for an Italian victory. It was their teasing that led me to declare that I felt Italy would win in the second half, in spite of Italy not only not having won a game so far in this world cup. As for the second half it started with Italy moving back in to defensive positions to play the counter attack in an attempt to free up the midfield and take advantage of the vacant spaces left when ever Pasarella, Tarantini, and Olguin went forward in attack.

This was a stroke of genius by Berzot which did not take long to show results as 11 minutes in to the second half, Tardelli would receive a pass in the middle of the Argentine defense on a run which would see him pass off the ball to Antognoni, who would in a perfectly timed relay pass find him in the penalty box and in the clear. This being perhaps Italy's first real scoring chance which Tardelli did not waste by striking an almost perfect crossing shot to beat Argentina's Fillol and give Italy a 1-0 lead. Goal was the shout heard from me in the middle of Argentine supporters who really were not all that pleased at what had occurred and less so to have it reminded in their presence by my shout that they were loosing.

The game at that moment continued in the same fashion it had been till that moment only with Argentina putting on more pressure, which the commentator as well as those around me felt was bound to end up in an equalizer for their team if not the one to go ahead goal. It was a nerve raking moment; reminding me of what I had been through four years ago, in all those matches specially the one against Holland, where we had also taken the lead only to loose.

Argentina attacked while Italy was dangerous on the counter, something I was hoping would lead to the one that put it away for Italy. Argentina however kept coming and fouls increased around Italy's penalty box. As Gentile had to resort to such tactics for what others could stop Maradona, and it was precisely off one of his free kicks that the tying goal almost came when he rattled the outside of Italy's left post. The ball had not gone in but close they were and all around me who supported Argentina could feel it yet one thing about Italy is that they were comfortable in defense, specially in the one that saw them hang on with everything they had. Several of my family members were telling me that I should support Argentina as they continued to cheer on yet for me it was Italy, win or loose.

Argentina a few minutes after Maradona's near miss would have another when a header by Pasarella, almost surprised Zoff who barely managed to get his right hand on it just before the ball went in, sending it off the past. So close had they been that even the commentator was saying it would be just a matter of time before another goal came and so did it occur, though not the way those around me would have hoped as it was Italy who went up 2-0. This occurring when Rossi got the ball on a one on one situation with goalkeeper Fillol, who managed to save his shot which should have been buried. Italy however managed to follow up on the play when Conti took the ball from a Fillol rebound to pass back to an oncoming Cabrini who found the back of the net, giving Italy a 2-0 advantage at the 67 minute mark of the match.

Italy was up and Argentina was definitely down and perhaps out as time was running low, this being all that my second loud scream of goal reminded those present as my voice was heard all through out not only the house but neighborhood as well. Me probably being that only one who was longing for an Italian win. Anger and frustration were for those around me as they had gone done 2-0 but as I explained it was not my fault that the team I wanted to win was doing just that, this an argument that managed to calm down those who felt mine was betrayal to their cause.

Argentina would go on to get on the score sheet and pull to within one when Daniel Pasarella found the back of the net off a free kick at the 83 minute mark of the game, in an effort that in all truth came just a little to little a little to late. Argentina however did make it more interesting at the end as this goal did give them as well as my Argentine family a glimmer of hope which made me suffer slightly at the end even if Italy did manage to hold on to win their first match in a world cup since they beat Austria 1-0 back in the last world cup before going on a winless streak that would last five games.

The game however despite Argentina's last minute efforts ended 2-1 with me celebrating though all telling me Brazil would undoubtedly beat us but this did not matter for me on that day as I had seen my team win. Brazil was for another day and time, for the time was at hand to celebrate.

New Sponsors for the New Season 2010-11 Premier League Jerseys

It goes without saying that running a modern football club these days costs a lot of money. To be able to keep a team competitive means paying ever higher wages for players, coaches and other supporting staff. It is for this reason that revenue is vital in the running of a football club. An important contributor to  a steady stream of revenue is having a wealthy financial backing in the form of sponsorship, especial shirt sponsorship.

The Premier League alone boasts £100m worth of Shirt Sponsorships for the 2010-11 season, seeing an increase of £28.11m from 2009-10.

This season there are a record five teams which have signed new deals with a new sponsor; Topping the revenue charts are Liverpool and Manchester United who both have signed new deals of £20m per year. Liverpool ended their 18 year affiliation with Carlsberg after agreeing a new deal with Standard Chartered Bank whilst Manchester United agreed a deal with AON, after they terminated their deal with AIG. Liverpool's deal with Standard Chartered will see them gaining an extra £12.55m per season when compared with their previous deal with Carlsberg.

Aston Villa and Fulham both agree a new deal with Forex trading. Aston Villa agreed a deal with FxPro after having their shirt sponsorship given to charity organization Acorns during previous seasons. The new deal with FxPro will see them earn £5m per year. Fulham also signed a deal with Forex Trading seeing them earning around £1m more than their previous deal with LG.

Blackpool, which is at the bottom of the list regarding sponsorship revenue have also signed a new deal with Wonga worth just half a million. This however still represents an increase of £300,000 from their deal with Carbrini last season.

Some teams in the premier league this year however will not see a change in the sponsors you will see on their shirts and in some cases such as Newcastle United and  Sunderland they have actually seen a decline in revenue stream from their sponsors. Newcastle's deal with Northern Rock fell from £4.8m to £2.5m whilst Sunderland agreed a deal with Tombola which will earn them £1.5m less than the previous season.

Party Themes - Top 4 Girl Birthday Party Themes

Planning a child's birthday party is never easy. Children can be very particular in their tastes and wants. It can be a daunting task to have to find the exact theme your child wants at an affordable price. Throughout this article I will list several ideas for different girls birthday party themes.

1. Disney Princess- Most little girls have a favorite Disney princess. Whether it's Cinderella, Bell, Ariel, or the newest Disney princess; Princess Tiana, from Princess And The Frog. No matter the princess it is always a good option for a girl's birthday party. Most Disney products are well stocked and easy to find at any party store location. This makes it that much more appealing for your daughters upcoming birthday.

2. Barbie- Whether your little girl is mesmerized by the adventurous Barbie Princess movies or she just loves to play with Barbies; the Barbie party line is a great choice. Many places that sell Barbie birthday themes will have a wide variety to choose from. Much like Disney Princesses your daughter will have her favorite one, making it imperative that you find the right one. Searching online before going to a store is a sure way to know what the store will carry. Don't be afraid to call the store and ask if they have the specific item you need. This will help you avoid a trip back to their return counter and an upset little girl.

3. Stripes or Polka Dots- If the birthday girl is older than 12 you might have a harder time with themes. Sometimes it is safer to do a theme that is a little more general. Stripes and polka dot colors in very vibrant and fun colors can be just the trick to put a smile on their face. Lime green and pink or brown and pink are a very fun and young color pairing that most teenagers will love. It is easiest to shop with them and learn what their style is. Take them to the store with you and find out exactly what they want.

4. Twilight- Another popular teen theme right now is Twilight. Teen girls seem to crave the men of Twilight and would love a whole event themed around the vampires. The popularity of the party theme can cause the prices to be high. I would recommend you look online to compare prices with other places. This will assure that you are getting the best deal for your daughters birthday party.

I hope these ideas will help guide your party planning for that special birthday girl. Make sure you keep the party about her and be aware of what she prefers. With a little planning, shopping and love she will have the best party that she could have ever imagined.

Soccer Cleats - Different Types For Different Reasons

Soccer cleats are certainly the most important part of your soccer gear. Although you must use your head as an important part of soccer, the majority of the game is played on the ground. That means that your soccer footwear should be tough enough to make sure that it can take what you are going to give it.

How about when someone else steps on your toes? It is definitely going to happen.

What Types!

They can also be called soccer boots, or soccer shoes. It depends who you talk to. However, soccer shoes are mostly referred to when you are talking about indoor soccer, or playing on turf. Cleats, or boots are referred to for outdoor grass games.

This is about soccer cleats.

Molded Cleats

Is the standard soccer cleat type.
Hard plastic or rubber molded.
Pre-molded, non-removable studs.
Perfect for beginners, or players with minimal experience.
Good for most field types and weather conditions.

Removable Cleats (studs)

Easily replaced when individual studs get worn down.
Different lengths for different field and weather conditions.
Made with hard plastic or plastic with metal tips.
Mostly used on wet or soggy fields.
Also good for long grass fields.

What Is In Them!

There are 2 main materials used to make soccer cleats.

Synthetics.Synthetics are great for soccer players just starting to play as they are less expensive than leather. They are also usually waterproofed to prevent absorbing water on wet days. Synthetic shoes are much easier to clean than leather shoes.

Leather.Leather provides the best fit and feel of any soccer cleat. They may be more expensive, but will provide better feel for the ball for those that take the game more seriously. Leather shoes will absorb more water than their synthetic counterparts but there are many waterproofing treatments available to keep them looking good and to help lengthen their lifespan.

When deciding what to choose consider this:

How much time will I be playing soccer?
What field will I be playing on?
What are the dominant weather conditions in my area?
How serious am I about my game?
Answering these questions will help you decide what choice is best for you.

It doesn't matter if you choose Nike soccer cleats, or those from Adidas or Puma, knowing what type you will need puts you a step closer to your goal.

FC Barcelona Fixtures 2008-2009

With the fixture list for the Spanish league now published we are now in a position to start planning which matches to go and see. One of the top two clubs in Spain is normally considered to be FC Barcelona, and here we discuss the highlights of the fixture list for the year.

The top matches are undoubtedly the games between Barcelona and Real Madrid due to the huge rivalry between the two cities and the rejection of a centralised Spain by many Catalans. The two clubs are life long archrivals and the matches eagerly awaited. The first round clash takes place in Barcelona on December 13th or 14th, with the return match at the Santiago Bernadeu stadium in Madrid taking place on May 2nd/3rd.

One of the other great clashes is against Barcelona's second team, RCD Espanyol. This season the first leg is played at the Estadi Olimpic on the last weekend of September, with Espanyol crossing town for the Nou Camp on February 21st/22nd. While Espanyol aren't at the same level as Barcelona, they do have a hardcore fan base and the results are not a forgone conclusion by any means.

Other top matches include Barcelona versus Getafe, a hard fighting team from Madrid. Although they only gained promotion to the top division several years ago, they quickly established a reputation as a worthy rival under the management of Bernd Schuster who is now at Real Madrid. They visit the Nou Camp on November 22nd/23rd, with Barça making the return match on April 18th/19th and other matches of note include Valencia and Sevilla, both worthy opponents.

Chelsea Clinton Entered Wedded Bliss As America Looked On

Chelsea Clinton is wed. For numerous people, this comes as a bit of a shock to the system and brain as for many, the enduring memory of Chelsea Clinton is as the gawky twelve year old who lived within the White House with her parents during the nineties.

But she is no longer that gawky twelve year old who very first came into the consciousness of the United States because of her father's presidential run in 1992. Instead, she is really a poised woman, a thirty year old college graduate of Stanford University with Masters Degrees from studies at both Oxford and Columbia. Of course, with the brains her parents have, it's not a lot of a surprise that she would wind up going to high powered universities, but that's still an impressive list.

Over the years there happen to be numerous presidential kids who have come to be known by the voting public. These days you will find the daughters of President and Mrs. Obama, Malia and Sasha. Sasha Obama is the youngest child of a President since John Kennedy, Jr. was an infant. Amy Carter was a little younger when her father became president than Malia Obama was. Often the kids of the president are adults living their own lives by the time their fathers get elected to the Oval office.

Chelsea Clinton's marriage was held in the little town of Rhinebeck, NY on the Hudson River. It's doubtful that Chelsea got a great night's sleep on a nice memory foam mattress the night prior to her wedding. The excitement of the wedding being so close most likely would make for a restless night sleep no matter how comfortable a mattress she may have had, and because she was most likely not staying anywhere near her normal bed and mattress, her sleep would happen to be that much more disrupted.

The Clintons worked very hard to sustain Chelsea's privacy throughout her years within the White House and she has managed to sustain that level of privacy for herself as an adult. The Obamas are also trying to sustain a similar level of privacy with their daughters, and are most likely hopeful that Malia and Sasha can sustain themselves and represent themselves well as Chelsea Clinton has done. It's hard for most anyone to sustain their sanity and a sense of perspective as they grow up in the public eye, and that much more impossible when your father is President of the United States. The public feels a sense of proprietary ownership for the kids of the President even though they aren't the politicians. In essence, these kids are the princes and princesses of America.

Premiership Betting Review

Chelsea officially clinched the Premiership on Saturday lunchtime with a crushing 3-0 victory over second placed Manchester United. The Blues only needed a draw to confirm the champions status but William Gallas after five minutes, Joe Cole on 61 and Ricardo Carvalho on 73 sealed victory in style as Jose Mourinho's side retained their Premiership trophy at 6/5.

Another crucial match in the Premiership was Portsmouth's victory at Wigan Athletic. As predicted in the Walker's Word column, Pompey's win at the JJB Stadium relegated both Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion in what was a gloomy day for West Midlands football. Henri Camara gave Wigan the lead after 34 minutes, but Benjamin Mwaruwari's first goal form the club on 63 and Matt Taylor's second penalty in as many weeks on 71 ensured a 9/5 away win.

Birmingham City could only muster a goalless draw against Newcastle United when only victory could preserve their Premiership status until the final match of the season. The draw was available at 12/5 before kick-off.

Liverpool went level on points with Manchester United after Saturday's 3-1 win over struggling Aston Villa. Fernando Morientes opened the scoring after four minutes but Gareth Barry levelled on 58. Captain Steven Gerrard netted on 61 and 65 minutes to ensure a 3/10 victory for Rafa Benitez's side.

Tottenham Hotspur tightened their grip on fourth place with a 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers. Aaron Lennon struck the decisive goal on the hour for the 7/10 Spurs.

Fulham won their first match away from Craven Cottage with a last gasp goal at Manchester City. Richard Dunne gave City the lead after 69m minutes but Collins John equalised for the Cottagers with six minutes left. Steed Malbranque then fired in a stoppage time winner to secure an unlikely victory at 3/1 odds.

Alan Curbishley's last match at The Valley as manager of Charlton Athletic ended in defeat as they were beaten 2-0 by 8/5 Blackburn Rovers. Steven Reid broke the deadlock two minutes before the break while a Chris Powell own goal on 65 put Mark Hughes' side in touching distance of UEFA Cup football.

On Bank Holiday Monday, Arsenal made sure Sunderland went the entire season without a home win with a 3-0 victory at the Stadium of Light. Arsenal, huge 3/10 favourites before kick-off, scored three goals in 14 first half minutes, with a Danny Collins own goal on 28, Cesc Fabregas on 38 and Thierry Henry three minutes before the break.

Manchester United edged one point ahead of Liverpool as they drew 0-0 with Middlesbrough at Old Trafford. United, heavily odds-on before kick-off, saw Ruud van Nistelrooy miss a penalty after 65 minutes and the match ended level at 9/2.

Double Dead - A Southern Murder Mystery

Double Dead, the debut Southern murder mystery by Terry Hoover, has been called a "standout by any standard" by Mystery Scene Magazine. I agree and so do the American Library Association's Booklist and several mystery authors.

"Terry Hoover is a newcomer to the mystery scene, but Double Dead, her first novel, does not read like the work of a novice," writes Lynne Maxwell for Mystery Scene Magazine. "A finalist in the Malice Domestic/St. Martin's Press Contest for Best First Traditional Mystery, Double Dead is a standout by any standard, featuring intricate plotting, electrifying courtroom scenes and a genuinely likeable protagonist. Count me in as a charter member of the Terry Hoover fan club!"

As the book begins, it's summer 1961 in Charlotte, NC. People are thinking about yo-yos, madras and the A-bomb. The heat picks up when wealthy banker John Lattimore is accused of murdering his mistress Delores Green.

After exposing a scandal among management that destroyed his career and his wife's, former newspaper reporter Steve Harlan is eking out a living as a private detective. The defense provide him a big break: a chance to work on the big case he has been praying for. His jubilation is tempered when he learns how heartlessly Lattimore has involved Delores's 13-year-old son.

Did Lattimore do it or was the bottle to blame for the death? Harlan must find out to save his client from a date with the gas chamber and his own family from someone who will do anything to keep the truth hidden.

Double Dead has received a thumbs up from The American Library Association's Booklist, as well as praise from award-winning mystery authors Charles Todd, Judy Clemens and Cathy Pickens.

Double Dead, a finalist in the Malice Domestic St. Martin's Press contest for Best First Traditional Mystery, is the first book in the Steve Harlan series. Terry Hoover, a native of Charlotte, NC, where Double Dead is set, now lives just outside the city, with her husband - that would be me - a public relations consultant. Hoover can be found online at http://www.hoovermysteries.com.
