Who Are Manchester United?

Manchester United are an English professional football club based in Old Trafford Manchester. Man United play in the English premier league which is arguably the best league in the world. Manchester United started off as Newton Heath LYR Football Club in 1878 and then changed to their new name Manchester United in 1902. The club relocated to old Trafford in 1910.

United were the first English football team to win the European cup in 1968, which was an amazing achievement since the club lost many of their players 8 years previous to the event in the Munic air disaster. The club has gone on to win the European Cup a further twice notably the most famous was during the 1998-1999 season where United were losing 1-0 with 3 minutes to go and they scored two goals and won. That season the club won the famous treble which consisted of the FA Cup, Premier League and European Cup. This feat has never been achieved since by another English club.

Chelsea Football Club

Manchester United is the joint top most successful football team in the English premier league. Their also the richest and the club is worth around £1.2 billion which makes it the most valuable football club in the world.

Manchester United are owned by the Glazer family who took over the club by paying more than £800 million for them since 2003. The Glazer family have racked up a mass debt against the club which gathers millions and millions of interest each year, because of this the fans of the club started a campaign to try and return ownership to the supporters with a billion pound takeover bid.
